Dear Ann --
I was so shocked to hear that Gan had died -- I gather suddenly.
What hard luck! Not for the first time. How he loved the laboratory [mark to note, and I know how often he did not get full credit for his accomplishment.] and stuck to that through so many trials. And I gather he was just back towards a new peak of optimism and productivity.
Oh Ann, I do grieve with you.
