Dear Professor Bijorntorp:

Dr. Jules Hirsch, one of our Professors at Rockefeller
University, has acquainted me with some of the important
work which you have been doing on the culture of adipocytes.
He has also told me that it may be possible for you to spend
sabbatical time working in his laboratory at Rockefeller
University. I am writing to tell you how pleased I would
be if you could spend time here with us. I, personally, and
the other members of our faculty, have a very deep commitment
to bringing the techniques of basic science to bear on problems
of human illness. I believe that your presence in Dr. Hirsch's
laboratory would not only be mutually beneficial, but could
lead to far better understanding of human obesity.

I do hope you will consider the possibility of spending
