Dear Mr. Baldwin:

I have your letter of October 12 asking about the
University's interest in the intellectual work of Dr.
Robbins. I do not believe that there is any formal
agreement or understanding; but in any case the Univer-
sity has no interest in withholding any such matter
from his estate.

Dr. Annette Hervey, who was Dr. Robbins associate
for many years, was most helpful to him in the conduct
of his research and contributed many, many devoted
hours as a Guest Investigator, without compensation.
She is in the midst of preparing final reports for pub-
lication in scientific journals of their joint effort;
and I am certain that Dr. Robbins would have solicited
your cooperation in giving her every assistance to see
that this can be done.

With regard to the disposition of Dr. Robbins' per-~
sonal effects I suggest that you deal directly with Dr.
Hervey at the laboratory here.
