Dear Joe:

Thank you for your letter of the 22d. The increased retained is
acceptable to me, and I thank you for it, provided that I will be expected
to spend about the same amount of time on this work as I have been — most
of the time, I am not at all too busy for it, but there are some seasons
when I could not afford to take more time from my regular work. I am sure
you had this in mind, and am putting this down only for the record.

I have enjoyed this consultation, and find it quite instructive as well.
I only hope I can make somes real contribution to you, one way or another.
