I understand Gil Omenn, who is now in OSTP with Frank Press, is being considered for the role of Mrs. Harris' deputy. While I think first preference should be given to someone with a strong and proven management record, [mark to note, Dr. Robert M. Heyssel, director of Johns Hopkins Hospital does qualify strongly on this count!] most of the other candidates I have heard mentioned are quite problematical on this score. On the policy analysis side, Dr. Omenn would be excellent. I've not met Mrs. Harris, so I hoped you'd pass this on.
