Dear Dave:

I am glad to convey the recommendation of our
committee for the James Murray Luck Award for scien-
tific reviewing. It is embodied in the following
citation:

Dr. G. Allan Robison for insightful and per-
severant contributions to the recognition of the
pervasive biological importance of cyclic adenosine
monophosphate (c-AMP).

Important experimental work on c-AMP by Earl W.
Sutherland was recognized by the Nobel Prize in Phys-
iology or Medicine in 1971. However, Dr. Robison's
reviews are preeminently credited with the focus of
attention which has been offered to c-AMP as a second
messenger in the widest variety of biological systems.

Dr. Robison is Professor and Chairman in the De-
partment of Pharmacology at the University of Texas
Medical School at Houston.
