Thank you for your telegram and your memo.
I am very sorry that you cannot accept the Heath Clark
Lectureship but quite understand the pressures which
prevent you. It would indeed be a great pleasure to
have you here for a week or so and if you are to be in
London for any reason please let me know so that we can
take advantage. We could certainly contribute to your
expenses to lengthen your stay. The longer warning you
can give me of any such visit, the better use we could
plan to make of it. I shall look forward to seeing you
then.
