THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN ~~!“E oF ter FS AUSTIN, TEXAS 78712 The Cell Research Institute February 28, 1980 Joshua Lederberg The Rockefeller University Office of the President 1230 York Avenue New York, NY 10021 Dear Joshua: I had intended to indicate that no helpful development would ultimately come out of Texas. The particular contact I was working on in Houston was very much put off by developments concerning the Shah of Iran and their reaching into the support of the University. This will wear off and I have two contacts in Houston now that I think over a period of time may yield up to one million dollars. Incidentally, your new publication is going to be some- what helpful in this regard, and I would like to have a few more copies of SL it, but don't waste them, say four or five. The Golgi work progresses well. Right at the moment we actually have one very useful mutation. When I hear from you again, perhaps we can get together. If you come to Austin, I have a slight task in mind for you that I think you will welcome. It was good to hear from you. Cordially yours,
