Dear Dr. Williams:

I an responding on behalf of Dr. Lederberg to your letter of March
28 concerning your discussions about our proposal to develop a special
fellowship program in parasitology between the United States and Britain.
We apologize for the delay.

We fully understand and endorse the view that it would be effective
to establish a fellowship program involving several institutions in the
United States. The Rockefeller University would be glad to participate
in a more broadly conceived program, particularly if it emphasized the
relationships between many areas of the biomediqal sciences and the new
research opportunities in parasitology and related fields.

Incidentally, although there is always some pressure on space at
research institutions, our campus can certainly accommodate a number of
additional postdoctoral fellows.

We look forward to hearing from you as your discussions proceed.
