This is to reply tc your letter of
June 9th asking about the nomination of
Dr. Saran A. Narang for appointment to
the Order of Canada. Dr. Narang's name
was known to me but not in sufficient
depth for me to give you a worthy answer
to your inguiry. I therefore took the
liberty to consult, quite confidentially,
one of my colleagues in whose judgement
I would place the most reliance. I can
