Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I have just spoken with Dr. Jim Withey of Canada. He will send
us his chapter on "Pharmacokinetics and Toxicology" within two
weeks.

Just this morning, Professor Maltoni called from Italy. He has
agreed to summarize all of his vinyl chloride data and the analogue
data as well, on 6,000 animals with a complete tissue pathology
with between 30 and 35 tissues per animal. This is probably the
most comprehensive and complete carcinogenicity experiment that

has ever been done.

Professor Maltoni will also present a brief summary of this work
in Washington on the 21st and 22nd of March at a meeting sponsored
by NIEHS, OSHA, NIEHF, FDA and several other federal agencies. I
will have this information after March 15th.

This will be approximately 500 pages.
