Thank you for your letter of October 22 concerning standards for
medical x-ray apparatus. There have been very few attempts made to
anaylze cost-benefit relationships in medical x-ray exposure. Dr. Bo
Lindell in Sweden, I recall, presented some material on this subject
in connection with this year's ICRP meeting in London. Perhaps you
might write to him to obtain a transcript of his remarks. They came
to grips with the issue which you have raised and were quite interest-
