Or , Fyn “< CE OF Tue presi’ Dear Dr, Lederberg, | Following up our phone conversation of Novenber 3, I am enclosing several issues of the Fusion Energy Foundation's monthly magazine, Fusion, as an introduction to our organization, The July issue brings up several questions concerning embryological self-organization and “epigenetic” development, but is also focussed on the question of how evolution might proceed in this context, The August issue discusses the problem of environmentalist attacks on basic cancer research under the banner of "technology causes cancer", which has led to the argument that environmental testing (which of course has some important value) should supplant basic biological investigation. Our latest issue, November, features an introduction to plasma physics for non-physicists, which 1s nevertheless sufficiently descriptive to bring home the idea that the laws governing a piasma actually change as the plasma evolves, in a qualitative sense, I hope that you and others at Rockefeller University enjoy the material, Sincerely, VV a, ( Kos 6AG hy Ned Rosinsky, M.D. F.E.F, Biomedical Division
