Dear Dr. Lederberg:

In my absence, the letter and Program Proposal memo-
randum mailed to you on August 7 contained some typo-
graphical errors and dropped lines, which are corrected
below and in the attached revised memorandum. There are
no changes in the Progress Report memorandum, which was

mailed at the same time.
Please note the following corrections in the letter:

On page one, sixth paragraph should begin: "Our memo-

randa are addressed,..."

On page 2, item 4, second line should read "...contri-
butors to FIBER,..."

On page 2, last line of eighth paragraph should read:
",..$474,000 budget."

Please substitute the revised memorandum for the
original.

My apologies for these errors, due mainly to a few
remaining bugs in our new word processor.
