Dear Barbara.
E. coli genome size (I haven't followed this lately).
Your 1983 map review allows 50 kb/min equals 5 x 10 to the 6th power base pairs.
I thought DNA association kinetics had given a smaller number,? approximately 2 x 10 to the 6th power. Do I misrecollect?
Do you know where this is most recently, critically discussed?
Ditto for B. subtilis?
