Dear Josh,
Word of formal approval of my application for a Heart Association Investigatorship came a few weeks ago. It was, of course, very welcome news, and I wanted to let you know about it and to thank you again for your part in the application process.
I'll also use this opportunity to pass along the reference, promised to you last summer, to the complete report of the Kelly and Van Essen studies of neuron shape vs. function in the visual cortex. It's J. Physiology 238: 515-548.
