Dear Joshua,

This letter has three linked purposes. The first is to send you and your family
warmest seasons greetings. The second is to express my very lively interest

in a rumour that has reached me that you may be going to the Rockerfeller
University as President next year. There would be many aspects of this that

I would love to discuss with you if and when it becomes official. The third is

to tell you that Lyn and I will be spending two weeks at Berkeley in the second-half
of February, where J will be a Visiting Professorsin the Department of
Bacteriology and Immunology. If you are in town at that time, Lyn and I would
love to call on you one evening and share recent experiences. There is so much
to talk about!
