Dear Yehuda,

This may seem like a silly question but do not underestimate the
profundity of my ignorance.

I had a brief discussion with you at one point about Ampere bringing
up the note, with which you were very well acquainted already, that he
had been interested in the classification of sciences. You promised that
you would send me some kind of overview writing about this "movement"
and I just wondered if you could think of any comment on it at all. You
will recall also a quotation from Pasteur where he criticizes such efforts
being described as "science".
