I know you are going to be harried by all kinds of requests but
you may receive one that {| hope you will give a modicum of consideration
to. This may come from the American Institute of New York which is a
rather venerable but narrow, not-too-active institution. Seventeen
or eighteen years ago they were very instrumental in getting the Science
Fairs and a local high school laboratory underway in New York City. |
have been rather obstreperous myself about accepting public appearance
requests and | would certainly not urge you to behave any more sociably
than | am planning to do. However, | thought | would at least help to
identify the source of this request if it comes to you which will be
possibly for speaking at their annual meeting sometime in February. {|
would be almost tempted to relent myself if it were more convenient as
amatter of time and place, but that is out of the question.
