Dear Ed:

Here's a copy of my application to ourcResearch Comittee which, I hope,
embodies what we had agreed upon before.

Dr. Irwin thought it would be a good idea if you would write directly to
Dr. Elvejhem, for the record, to indicate why you think the visit is worthwhile.
(i.e., mtual benefit, etc.)

When you have a chance, would you let me know as to the availability of and

equipment on your phase microscope. We will be buying another one here, and
this will give m a chance to review equipment now on sale, in case any further
accessories are likely 66 be needed.

The meetings were a lot of fun, but not nearly so mich as the private tete~a-
tees.
