I was very happy to receive a letter from a world famous
scientist as you. Upon receiving your letter I have been trying
tolook for some publications on the problem you are interested in.
In Japan, however, few microbiological studies under radiation
have been made. Ishizawa,K. and M.Ichinoe examined the effect
of chronic gamma radiation on the density and activity of fungus,
Actinomycetes, bacteria and also nematodes in the soil near the
Co source of our gamma field. But unfortunately the paper is
in Japanese. They say that it will be published in English in
near future and then they will be pleased to send you the reprint.
