This application requests $3,034,486 for support of 26 new
proposals. Fifteen more proposals were turned.down for funding
by the Regional Advisory Group in their review process. The
major thrust of these proposals are in Health Maintenance and
Preventive Care, with two of the proposals, Statewide Hypertension
Control Program and the Regional Blood Program, utilizing most of
the requested funds, a total of $2,196,659. The application
includes GIP comments, all of which were considéred by the
Mississippi RAG prior to submission of the application.

Critique:

Program leadership strong and viable, competent program staff, past |
performance impressive, perceptive in establishing goals and objectives
to support accomplishment of those goals, proposals congruent with
goals and mesh well. Excellent CHP relationships, well done proposal
that shows high degree of strength.

Reduced recommendation based on whether the large number of new activities
could be realistically accomplished in the time-frame remaining for
the program.
