December 6, 1944 Dear Doctor: I am appointing a committee of representative citizens of Colorado to assist the Legislature, the elective State officials, and this office in working out a progressive program for the post war era in Colorado. It is my purpose to have every activity in the State represented so that we may develop an over-all picture of the things we can do for the upbuilding of Colorado following hostilities, as well as to absorb into our civilian fabric the thousands of service men and women who are now wearing the uniform of our country. I would like to ask you to represent the subject of HEALTH. It is my purpose to have a general meeting of the committee as soon as its personnel is completed so that it can meet and work with oncoming session of the Legislature. I very much hope you can see your way clear to accept this appointment. Faithfully yours, John C. Vivian
