Dear Doctor Sabin: I have not seen Miss Sherman since the Easter holidays and I don't know just what her plans are for next year. I shall see her next week and will let you know as soon as I ascertain her wishes. I have a new liquid fatty acid isolated from the wax of tubercle bacilli. The acid is similar to, possibly homologous with, the liquid fatty acid obtained from the phosphatide. I am very anxious indeed to learn something about its physiological action. Could you try it in comparison with the other acid at this time. I could bring you a sample of the substance by Wednesday next week if that would be convenient for you. At the same time I shall also bring a sample of palmitic acid. Very sincerely, Rudolph J. Anderson
