Considering the importance of science and technology to American economic growth and competitiveness, this study shows alarming results, As a recipient of the National Medal of Science, you are an example ofthe — excellence in science we must continue to foster in this country, As a leader in your field, the Foundation believes you can offer an important perspective on how to capture students interest in science. The Foundation is conducting a survey to gather information in two areas. First,we are interested in how National Medal of Science recipients became _ interested in careers in science and what inspired Medalists to succeed in their field.
