Dear Dr. Siegal,
Thank you very much for your letter, and for the T.M.V. solution, which arrived safely.
First I must try to obtain from your specimen a birefringent "bottom layer" solution, as it is only from such a solution that I am able to prepare well-oriented specimens.  (The material arrived in the form of "top layer" solution).
I very much enjoyed my visit to your laboratory, and was most interested in all that you told me about your work.
