Dear Wendell:
I am enclosing a xerox copy of the letter of Fess Avery to his brother.  I don't think that Colin or I have ever done just the kind of thing you mention, although we did prepare something together for the A.C.S. symposium in San Francisco in 1968, and I am enclosing also a copy of this.  One of the things Colin is doing at present is to work on a book that will cover the historical background.  It's a difficult matter to project oneself back 25-30 years, and he's attempting to go through all of the old laboratory notes for orientation.
