January 24, 1984 Dear Martha: I enclose my introductory remarks for transmittance to Leon Schidlow in Mexico. I have tried to introduce enough scientific background relating to genetic engineering and agriculture to tie my remarks in with the establishment of the chair in photosynthesis that, I gather, will be the highlight of the evening. Pat Montero mentioned to me, last week, that I should try to get my travel plans to you no later than January 31. As soon as I have consulted a couple of travel agencies, I will either make reservations or send you the numbers and times of the planes that my wife and I will be interested in getting on. We had thought of spending a couple of days after the meeting somewhere on a sunny beach, and I have to determine whether to go east or west. I will get this travel information to you very shortly. I look forward to receiving the final itinerary. Best regards. Sincerely, Christian B. Anfinsen
