Officers drawing Subsistence Stores from the United States, in this Department, will be governed by the following: 1st. The meat rations can be of either Pork, Bacon, ('sides or shoulders,) Salt or Fresh Beef, or one-half of either two of the above items, or one-third of either three, or one-fourth of the four, or any such division that the added total number of rations shall equal the total number of rations drawn. 2d. Sugar, Vinegar, Candles, Soap and Salt, are all drawn separately, and for the full amount of rations if desired. 6th. For Potatoes (fresh) take three-sevenths of the total num- ber of rations drawn, which will be the number of pounds allowed on any return. For Molasses take two-sevenths of the total number of rations drawn, which will give the number of rations allowed, which divided by one hundred gives the number of gallons. 7th. Each Company of one hundred men should obtain for cooking, from the Quartermaster's Department, two camp kettles, five mess pans, two axes and two hatchets for every fifteen men. Also, if possible, tin cup, spoon and knife for every man. C. L. KILBURN, Major and Chief Commissary of Subsistence, Department of the Ohio.
