SANITARY COMMISSION. KTo. 6. At a meeting of the Commission, held in the city of New York, June 22d, 1861, Whereas, The professional and scientific character of the Sanitary Commission makes it dependent on the existence of • Financial Committees in various parts of the country to be composed of business men, for the collection of funds, Resolved, That the folloAving gentlemen, and such others as they may choose to associate with them, viz.: John J. Cisco, Robeet B. Mintuen, A. T. Stewtart, Moses Taylor, R. H. McCurdy, Robert C. Goodhue, John C. Geeen, Charles E. Strong, A. A. Low, AV. F. Cary, Cyrus W. Field, Jonathan Sturges, Peter Cooper, Robert L. Stuart, who are hereby declared associate members of this Commission, be invited to act as a Central Financial Committee to collect 9 and receive from local Committees funds for the benefit of the Sanitary Commission, and to audit its accounts. That Dr. Gibbs, Dr. Van Buren, Dr. Agnew, and Mr. Strong, with the officers of the Commission, be a Special Committee to wait on these gentlemen with explanations of the plans and purposes of the Commission, and with the duty of urging upon them the acceptance of the office hereby assigned them.
