AW 14J. Z G 7-f. Af f 5 74-8 c /833 ABSTRACT OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE LIBRARY, Which relate to the Delivery and Return of Books. 1. Each-Proprietor is entitled to Three Volumes at a time, and to retain them Five Weeks; fine for exceeding that time, for a pamphlet or any volume smaller than an octavo, Ten Cents, for an octavo, Fifteen Cents; for a quarto or larger volume, Twenty Cents; and for every week that the book is so retained, the same sum in addition. 2. Every book must be returned One Week at least previoug to the Annual Meeting, under penalty of One Dollar. 3. No book can be delivered to any Person who has not a right to the use of the Library, without a written order from the Proprietor on whose account it is taken; but a Proprietor may give a standing order to a medical student, for any term not ex- ceeding Three Months. 4. No person but a Proprietor, except the Sub-librarian, is permitted on any account to take a book from the shelves of the Library. iv 5. No person who has a right to the use of the Library is per- mitted to lend any book to any physician who has not such right. 6. If any book is lost or injured, the person on whose account it is taken, is answerable to the full extent of the injury, under the direction of the Trustees. 7. Fines are to be paid within one week after the bill is pre- sented, or the right to the use of the Library is to be suspended till they are paid. 8. The Annual Assessment must be paid within Thirty Days after it is demanded, or the right to the use of the Library is sus- pended till paid ; and if not paid in one year, the Treasurer is to give notice and sell the share. 9. Annual Subscribers, who are approved by the Trustees and pay Ten Dollars a year, are entitled to receive books from the Library in the same manner as Proprietors, on their signing an obligation to conform to the Rules and Regulations. 10. New Proprietors must be approved by a •majority of the Trustees, receive a Certificate signed by the Treasurer and Secre- tary, and sign an obligation to conform to the Rules and Regu- lations.
