ELP, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth, for the faithful fail from among the children of men. For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the mighty man, * * * * and the prudent, and the ancient, and the honorable man and the counsellor. But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kind- ness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
