On and after the 31st of December, 1868, a Sanitary Report will be prepared by the Senior Medical Officer on duty at a Post on the 31st of December and the 30th of June of each year. These Reports are to be made on Forms furnished from this Office, (Form 48) and are to be for- warded in duplicate to the Medical Director of the Department, who will forward one copy, with his comments, to the Surgeon General, and retain the other for the files of his Office. With the first Report, viz., that of December 31st, 1868, Medical Officers will forward a Special Report describing in detail the post, buildings, water supply, drainage, etc. This Report should contain the information and data which have been obtained for and entered in the " Record of the Medical History of the Post," already furnished to Post Surgeons from this Bureau. order of the Surgeon General: Assistant Surgeon General, U.
