Mr. Martin introduced the following bill: A BILL To establish a marine hospital at or near Lewes, Delaware. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 2 lives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That the Secretary of the Treasury be authorized and directed 4 to erect, on lands to be ceded by the State of Delaware, such 5 buildings as, in the opinion of the Supervising Surgeon-Gen- 3 eral of the Marine Hospital Service, shall be necessary for a 7 marine hospital at or near Lewes, Delaware. 1 Sec. 2. That the sum of fifty thousand dollars, or so 2. much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated, 3 out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, 4 for the construction of said buildings, to be expended under 5 the direction of the Secretary of the Treasury.
