GENERAL ORDERS, No. 25. WAR DEPARTMENT, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, February 23, 1865. I.. Repairs to General Hospitals. Paragraph III, General Orders, No. 306, December 31, 1864, will not be understood as applying to the minor repairs of General Hospitals, as setting glass, &c., but such repairs will continue to be made through the same channels and by the same authority as heretofore. II.. Sales of Forage and Straw. Forage and straw may be sold by the Quartermaster's Department to any other department of the military service of the United States for public use, when the quantity on hand will admit of it, upon the requi- sition of the senior officer of the department present at the place where the supplies are required, approved by his commanding officer. Such sales will be for cash, at the cost price at the place of sale. The articles and quantities of such supplies sold during any month, will be entered on a special Abstract, the vouchers to which will be the requisition above named, setting forth the price of the articles sold, and the receipt of the officer to whom the supplies are delivered. The proceeds of such sales will be credited to the United States upon the officer's summary statement and account current for the month.- (Forms 1 and 10, Quartermaster's Department.)
