Second Lieutenant August Q. Neither, 7th U. S. Infantry, having 
deserted his command on the night of the 13th instant, when within a 
hundred yards of the enemy, and in expectation of an engagement, and 
having remained absent since, is, by direction of the President, dis- 
gracefully dismissed the service.
