virtue of Special Orders of January 3, 1863, from Head Quarters Army 
of the Mississippi, was arraigned and tried:

The finding and sentence are approved; but in consideration of the 
recommendation of the Court, and tlfc good behavior of Lieutenant Gibson 
while a soldier in the ranks, the penalty of dismissal from the service is 
remitted, and he will bo publicly reprimanded.
