Dear Dr. Varmus,
The 1974 Cold Spring Harbor Symposium will be on the subject of Tumor Viruses.  The meeting will start on the evening of Thursday, May 30, and finish at noon on Thursday, June 6.  We would be very pleased if you could attend and talk on your recent work.
All invited speakers receive free board and lodging at the laboratory for the duration of the meeting.
It is our custom to let each speaker choose what he will talk about.  In this way, we make sure that each paper deals with recent work rather than something done several years ago.  However, in order to arrange the program, we will have to be given the final title, plus an abstract of the talk by the 30th of March.  Then we can put together the program and see how much time can be allotted to the various speakers.
