Nature Nov. 3, 1956 page 993 has some coli protoplasts produced by osmotic treatment that might be of interest to you - if you haven't seen it.  Sent in Wegl's[?] letter with only a comment to say I'd like to talk with him.  Will write to him in a few days.  Gareu[?] was here today - had a long talk with him.
