Dear Joshua,

It was extremely kind and thoughtful of you to give me a
briefing about the Stockholm celebrations. As you say, the Nobel peovle
leave one pretty much in the dark, expect for indicating what clothes one
should wear on what occasions. I gather from George Klein that by the
time the celebrations were over you were pretty well reeling with the impact.

Incidentally, I thought your reply to the Peroration was
magnificent, and the only other piece of information I need from you is whether

you read it or learnt it off by heart. This kind of information is most
important!
