Wilson, M.D. 2249-D N-Emery St. Longmont, CO 80501 Dear Vern: I have missed you by telephone on a couple of tries. Probably it’s simpler to correspond at this point. T understand from my secretary, Pat Carson, that you have set aside July 24 for a television interview at NLM in connection with the Regional Medical Program project. I’m delighted that you can accommodate our request. I believe that your interview and a few others should be a means of orienting the entire meeting. That’s the reason I’m anxious to get a few done fairly soon. My purpose in writing today is merely to be certain that the appointments are convenient to you and that we have made clear the general setup. Please choose a date which will fit well with your personal and family plans and program. We'll do our best to accommodate to whatever dates you favor. Of course, I would hope that we can find a date when I can be present as well. In this connection, Mary and I would be delighted if you find it convenient to stay with us at our home. This is about 20-30 minutes drive from the Library. There are extra cars as well, in case you want one of your own. Similarly, it would probably be fun if you could spent one or two days on the project. There is a great deal of material assembled here that you might want to examine previous to your interview. Certainly, we would benefit from your judgment as to the way we are organizing things. Of course, there are many matters here which would benefit from your advice; I’m just concentrating on RMP for the moment. We would intend to reimburse your travel expenses and to provide a per diem (insultingly small) honorarium to you. Consequently, you are certainly free to put up at whatever sort of a hotel you might wish to choose. My offer of homely hospitality was merely in order to maximize the amount of time Mary and I could spend with you. Please give me a call (collect) if you want to discuss any of these arrangements. In any event, I very much look forward to seeing you in Washington and to your participation in the RMP meeting itself in December. Best wishes, Vp Donald A. B.
