What a fine review! I enjoyed reading it and I think the organization and completeness are admirable. A few minor corrections are included on another sheet; most of them could be disregarded if you choose, except for those concerning English grammar. By the way, the English is quite excellent throughout. How I wish I could do a tenth as well in French!
I've been back at work since the beginning of September and I am fortunate to have a very fine woman to care for Amy. What a marvelous little girl she is -- a good spirit, fine sense of humor and enthusiasm for everything about her. Dan and I find her quite irresistible.
At the lab I'm busy with many things. I'm back at our old manuscript and this time hope to get it completed. Also, Giulio and I are talking about publishing a note on the S-RNA-polynucleotide phosphorylase data now that we are thoroughly convinced that the residual RNA (dubbed S-RNA-p) has the same s.a. for picking up active amino acid as does the starting material. Also we have information on the base analysis and end groups so there is a fair amount of material. Since you'll be an author on this we'll send you the manuscript before sending it off. I think I have identified a 5'-phosphomonoester end on Giulio's preps -- which, as far as I can tell, is something new. Even more intriguing is that it appears to be all guanine -- that is the only 3' .5' diphosphate I've found pGp although I've looked for the others. This is still new so time and more experiments are needed.
