I am not referring to the Nixon Administration's policy about war in SE Asia, (to talk about peace while planning to continue indefinitely the air bombing of this small region at the rate of the attacks on Germany and Japan during the Second World War) [END PAGE ONE] [BEGIN PAGE TWO] 2 nor about Nixon's economic policy (to attack inflation by putting more and more people out of work, while steel prices and other prices are allowed to rise 6 or 7% per year). Today it [sic] the FDA that I discuss. The big drug companies work hard to develop and sell new drugs, at high prices. [END PAGE TWO] [BEGIN PAGE THREE] 3 Who takes the responsibility of giving good, responsible advice to the American about good nutrition, about eating foods, such as the essential foods called vitamins, in such a way as to put people in the best of health. It should be the FDA, but it isn't. In this aspect of its work, the FDA has failed to do its duty [END PAGE THREE] [BEGIN PAGE FOUR] 4 I said vit. C can help to prevent colds and ameliorate colds. On 16 Dec 1970 Food and Drug Commissioner Chas C Edwards was reported as saying that Vit C has no value. He telephoned me, saying that he had been misquoted. Then on 29 Dec UPI reported him as saying "--------. Other authorities. AMA [END PAGE FOUR] [BEGIN PAGE FIVE] 5 Neither Dr. Edwards nor any other physician of the many who have made such has given the evidence for his statements.
