16390. Adulteration of pecan meats. U. S. v. 2 Cases, etc. (F. D. C. Nos. 28953, 28954. Sample Nos. 58366-K, 71483-K.) in whole or in part of a decomposed substance by reason of the presence of decomposed pecan meats, and it was otherwise unfit for food by reason of the presence of rancid pecan meats. DISPOSITION : May 5, 1950. The Southern Pecan Shelling Co., claimant, having consented to the entry of a decree, judgment of condemnation was entered and the court ordered that the product be released under bond for segregat- ing, regrading, and removing of deleterious matter, under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration. 437 pounds of the pecans were rejected and destroyed.
