ALLEGED SHIPMENT: On or about November 25, 1946, from San Francisco, Calif. PRODUCT: 7 cases, each containing 6 6-pound, 5-ounce cans, of gooseberries at Butte, Mont. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the product consisted in whole or in part of a decomposed substance by reason of its chemical de- composition. The product was adulterated while held for sale after ship- ment in interstate commerce. DISPOSITION: March 6, 1950. Default decree of condemnation. The court ordered that the product be delivered to a State institution, to be denatured for use as animal feed.
