ALLEGED SHIPMENT : On or about October 1, 1946, by Clarence Ringhausen, from Jerseyville, Ill. PRODUCT: 100 bushels of apples at St. Louis, Mo. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (1), the article contained an added poisonous or deleterious substance, lead, which may have rendered it injurious to health. DISPOSITION: November 1, 1946. No claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the apples were ordered delivered to a charitable institution, conditioned that they be peeled and that the peelings and cores be destroyed under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration. 782319—48 4
