ALLEGED SHIPMENT : Between the approximate dates of July 23 and October 30, 1945, from the State of Kentucky into the State of Tennessee. LABEL, IN PART: "Water Maid Bolted Meal Snow-White Air-Lite," or "Old Time Cream Meal, C. B. Ragland Co., Nashville, Tennessee, Distributors." NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of rodent excreta fragments, rodent hairs, rodent hair fragments, larvae, and insect fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), (3 lots only) the article had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with filth. DISPOSITION : • May 21,1947. A plea of nolo contendere having been entered on behalf of the defendant, the court imposed fines of $125 on each of 6 counts, a total fine of $750, plus costs.
