PRODUCT: 165 cases, each containing 6 No. 10 cans, of asparagus puree at Philadelphia, Pa. LABEL IN PART: (Cans) "Hurff Asparagus Puree." VIOLATIONS CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a decomposed substance. Misbranding, Section 403 (a), the name on the label, "Asparagus Puree," was misleading in the absence of a statement revealing the material fact that the article was produced from asparagus butts. DISPOSITION: August 16, 1944. No claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
