PRODUCT: 22 1-bushel baskets of apples at St. Louis, Mo. LABEL IN PART: "Jonathan." VIOLATION CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (1), the product contained lead, which may have rendered it injurious to health. DISPOSITION: November 2, 1944. No claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered delivered to a charitable organization, conditioned that the apples be peeled and all peelings and cores destroyed under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration, so that the product would be fit for use as food.
