On June 25, 1942, the United States attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania filed a libel against a total of 231 pounds of butter at Pittsburgh, Pa., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about June 9, 1942, by the Pickway Dairy Cooperative Association, Inc., from Circleville, Ohio; and charging that it was adulterated, in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy or decomposed animal substance. The article was labeled in part: (Wrappers of portion) "Great Lakes Brand Creamery Butter Distributed by Jersey Farm Products Co. Pittsburgh, Pa."; (wrappers of re- mainder) "Creamery Butter."
